1930s

Competition continues

Toowoomba’s clubs continued to grow during the 1930s. In 1938, the Telegraph noted that Toowoomba had 9 clubs (Willowburn, Gowrie-Little Plains, Gomoran, Oakey, Sugarloaf, Southern Cross, Greenwood, Kingsthorpe and Rovers).

In Warwick, competition appeared to slow during the early thirties but by the late thirties, the competition was revived once more.

*Please note that the records above indicate a club named Willowburn preceded the current Willowburn which has been in continual existence since 1949.
