Wilfred ('Wilf') Bratton

Wilfred (‘Wilf’) Bratton was born in Sheffield England ca 1895, and migrated to Flaxton on the North (now ‘Sunshine’) Coast hinterland in 1912.

After serving in the Great War, Bratton played for the Sunshine Coast hinterland football club, Mapleton, and was selected in the inaugural Australian squad to play New Zealand in 1922. He played in the second test (his only match for Australia) scoring Australia’s goal in the 1-1 draw.
